Kimberly Howse, Lupus Survivor, and Advocate has a Bachelor’s in Business from The University of La Verne. She started the Howse Foundation, a non-profit organization designed to promote healthy living, and provide direct support to those living with Lupus. Howse Foundation’s goal is to support people with lupus who want to live a healthy lifestyle. Kimberly uses her experiences, resources, and knowledge to partner with other Lupus Organizations. She is also a Certified Support Group Facilitator with Lupus LA and The Lupus Foundation of America.
Kimberly’s mission with Howse Foundation is to build awareness one brick at a time by providing resources, support, and access to a healthier lifestyle. Kimberly pursues involvement with businesses in any way beneficial to the organization while keeping in mind the goal to provide resources to people living with Lupus.
Kimberly Howse, was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus erythematosus in December 2005. She lived with this disease that she knew nothing about and because of that unfamiliarity became very ill. She ended up in the hospital constantly, lost most of her hair, lost an unhealthy amount of weight, and lost hope and confidence for life altogether. Along with SLE(systemic lupus erythematosus) she’s developed fibromyalgia, vasculitis, and discoid lupus among many of the other overlapping illnesses related to Lupus. She felt at one point that there was no hope left, however with a lot of prayer, positive motivation, love, and support from family she pulled through the darkest hole of her life.
Now Kimberly lives a healthy and active lifestyle due to her research, reading, learning, and living with Lupus, and she enjoys helping others learn how to manage with it better as well. Howse Foundation also has now partnered with Certified Support Group host Marlo De La Mora who host an autoimmune illness group in Simi Valley! Please come and meet both Marlo and Kim at the Howse Support Groups being offered at this event …
